By Our Sports Correspondent

KARACHI, Sept 17: Alamgir A. Shaikh was elevated to the post of president, Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA), in the elections for a two-year term during the annual general body meeting held in the city the other day.

The 12-member body includes four new faces including the secretary Munawwar Hussain Shaikh, an income tax lawyer by profession. Other three are Dr Amin Pyar Ali Delawala, Hanif Memon and Mustafa Abdul Aziz.

The meeting which lasted for an hour was chaired by senior most member of the PBSA Wahid Tawawala in the absence of Asghar Valika and Jamil Sakrani.

“We have sent the list of office-bearers and minutes of the electoral meeting to the PSB on Wednesday with a request to restore the affiliation at the earliest convenience,” Alamgir told Dawn.

Office-bearers: Alamgir Shaikh (president), Abdul Wahid Qadir (senior vice-president), Jawed H. Karim (vice president), Munawwar Hussain Shaikh (secretary), Anwer Jaffer Ali (treasurer). The seven members of the committee are Dr Amin Pyar Ali Delawala, M. Amin Bawany, M. Hanif Memon, M. Yousuf Suleman, Mustafa Abdul Aziz, Nisar Ali Bhagat and Shabbir Hussain Daruwala.
