By Our Staff Reporter
ISLAMABAD, Sept 17: A man was found dead in his house located near Golra Railway Station.
The incident came to light when the victim’s first wife and neighbours informed the police that a foul smell was coming out of the house which was locked from outside. The police arrived at the spot and after breaking the door entered the house. During their search they found a body wrapped in a bed sheet and bundled into a TV carton in the bathroom.
The body was shifted to Pims where an autopsy was carried out on it. It was revealed that the body was two to three days old and there was a possibility that the man was strangled. Several torture marks were also found on the victim’s head, chest and neck.
The police said the victim, Javed Akhtar, was involved in construction and property business. He had married his cousin in 1983 and had seven children from her, including four sons. The family lived in Morgah, Rawalpindi.
Later he married for the second time some seven years ago and had three daughters from her. He got a house constructed for his second wife in Golra.
The victim spent four days of the week with his first wife and the remaining three days with his second wife.
After failing to establish contact with her husband in the last three to four days, Imtayaz Akhtar, the first wife, went to the house in Golra to inquire after him. She found the door of the house locked from outside and a foul smell coming from inside which increased her suspicion.
The police registered a case on the complaint of Imtayaz Akhtar against the man’s second wife and her accomplices.
In another incident, human remains were found from a ditch in a wooded area located near Sara-i-Kharboza.
