Relief on import of diamonds

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Sept 17: The government has exempted customs duty on import of six kinds of precious stones.

A customs notification (SRO 940) released here on Wednesday said that the decision would come into effect from Sept 4 by amending SRO 567 of 2006.

The customs duty has been exempted on import of diamonds, precious stones, silver, gold, platinum and palladium. No new conditions will be applicable for import of these stones.

However, conditions already notified in the parent notification will apply to the import of these precious stones.
