KARACHI, Sept 17: Three ships carrying containers and crude oil are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where eight ships, Blida to load cement, Cape Ferrol, APL Shenzhen, Pac Antlia and Bunga Teratai-4 to unload and load containers, Xen Chang Hai to offload rapeseed, Valiant, an oil tanker and Siam Pearl to offload imported wheat were berthed.

Sailing was also fairly active as nine vessels including Mol Admiration, Seven Seas Aurora, Csav Lonquimay, Johar, Sea al-Batross, Sea Vetern, Lake Maja, Maersk Rouen and Sea Bridge departed, while Nanos, APL Shenzhen, Bunga Teratai-4 and Valiant are due to sail out on Thursday.Owing to steady berthing the total tonnage handled on Wednesday rose to 126,000 tons comprising 37,917 tons of export cargo and 87,966 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Quetta with 65,000 tons of crude oil, Tower Bridge and Global Prosperity with containers.
