LHC to hear petitions against PCB
LAHORE, Sept 16: The Lahore High Court on Wednesday is to hear four identical petitions from the employees of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) which also includes the one filed by its Director Special Projects Salim Altaf against the board’s management.
Salim Altaf had challenged his termination orders given by the then PCB chairman with the court suspending the operation and allowing Altaf to continue work after hearing the arguments last June.
Meanwhile, Col (Retd) Muhammad Pervez and Major (Retd) Javed Arshad Khan and Syed Akram Gilani had also filed petitions challenging their termination orders.
The court during its last hearing had sought a detailed reply from the PCB management regarding the terms and conditions of the employees’ services.
The PCB also filed an application against Syed Akram Gilani alleging that the respondent (Gilani) had got a stay order by providing wrong information to the court.
The PCB had pleaded for the vacation of that stay order while the court will hear both parties’ arguments regarding this application.—APP
