Returns date extended

ISLAMABAD, Sept 16: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the date for payment of sales tax and federal excise duty, including special excise duty, for the tax period August 2008, up to Sept 20.

An official statement issued here said the FBR has further extended the date for submission of sales tax and federal excise returns for the period under review in a bid to facilitate tax payers.

The tax department is continuously extending the last date for filing of tax returns due to introduction of mandatory electronic filing of sales tax and federal excise returns.
