LARKANA, Sept 15: Four students, among them two girls, suffered injuries on Monday when a portion of the ceiling of a government high school in Gogharo (Qambar) fell on them in the class room.

The injured Mujahid Chandio, Sajjad Mangan, Abid Mughiri, Yasir Mangan, Saeeda Babbar and Azra Khokhar of class ten were allowed to go home after their bruises were bandaged.

The students protested against the education works department and demonstrated outside the school.

They said the department had ignored their repeated requests for not making alternate arrangements as the existing building was quite old.

Azhar Mangi and others said that time and again the education high ups and the concerned engineering department were requested to demolish the old school building, which posed a constant threat to life. But they paid no heed to their pleas, he said.

They said that temporary arrangements for continuing their study should be made and in the meantime new school building should be constructed.
