KARACHI, Sept 15: The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) on Monday announced the results of Higher Secondary School Certificate-II Commerce group (regular and private) annual examination-2008.

Among the regular candidates, Mohammad Amin (roll number 282140) and Hassan Mujtaba (roll number 282125) of the Institute of Business Education secured the first and second positions, respectively. Ismat Fatima (roll number 291949) of the DA Degree College for Women, DHA, got the third position.

A total of 24,153 regular candidates appeared in the examination and 13,650 of them passed it — 109 in “A-1” grade, 1,401 in “A” grade, 3,226 in “B” grade, “5,321” in “C” grade, “3,449 in “D” grade and 144 in “E” grade.

The overall pass percentage stood at 56.51.

Among the private candidates, Syed Zaigham (roll number 373920) clinched the first position, Sadia Hussain (roll number 391914) got the second position and Tahira Farid Ansari (roll number 375512) secured the third position.

A total of 11,252 candidates appeared in the examination and 4,709 passed it — only two in “A-1” grade and 38 in “A” grade. Among the rest, 446 passed the examination in “B” grade, 1,907 in “C” grade, 2,188 in “D” grade and 128 in “E” grade. The pass percentage stood at 41.85.

SSC suppl exam

The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) has extended the date for the submission of examination forms for the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) supplementary examination-2008 Science and General group for both regular and private candidates to Sept 20.

The BSEK controller of examinations said on Monday that the forms could be submitted from Sept 22 to 27 with a late fee of Rs200 and from Sept 29 to Oct 8 with a late fee of Rs500, from Oct 9 to 12 with a late fee of Rs1,000 and from October 13 onwards with a late fee of Rs1,500.

SBTE schedule

The Sindh Board of Technical Education (SBTE) on Monday announced a revised schedule for the postponed papers of Diploma of Associate Engineers (DAE) annual examination-2008.

The DAE first and second year papers which could not be held on Aug 27, 28 and 29 in certain institutions due to disturbances would now be held on Sept 20, 24 and 25, respectively.

The examination centres and timings would remain unchanged, it added.—Agencies
