Qasmi CC triumph

KARACHI, Sept 14: Wicketkeeper/batsman Rehan Azam played a major role in Qasmi Cricket Club’s second group ‘B’ win when they beat hosts Karachi Gymkhana by 41 runs in the 23rd KG Twenty20 Ramazan cricket tournament at the KG Ground here on Sunday.

Rehan smashed 40 off 35 deliveries with three sixes and two fours and Talha Faheem cracked an unbeaten 38 with five boundaries as Qasmi CC piled up 170 for the loss of seven wickets in their 20 overs.

KG in reply were restricted to 129 for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Former Pakistan test batsman Hasan Raza slammed 52 in 39 balls with three boundaries and a brace of 6s while his team mates struggled.

Rehan Azam after a fine knock of 40 accounted for two catches and three stumping and was named ‘Man-of-the-Match’ for his effort.
