Ameer helps Karachi Blues gain lead
KARACHI, Sept 13: Paceman Abdul Ameer claimed four wickets to help Karachi Blues secure a 45-run first innings lead over Lahore on the second day of their three-day PCB Inter-region Under-19 Cricket Championship match at the PCB Academy ground on Saturday.
Responding to Karachi Blues’ first innings total of 307, Lahore were dismissed for 262 in their first innings after resuming at 9-0.
For Lahore, opener Mohammad Saad fought well, striking six boundaries in his 73 off 184 balls during 229 minutes at the crease. Captain Mubashir Ijaz scored 46 with the aid of two fours and a six.
Ameer bowled with a lot of fire and finished with excellent figures of four for 26 in seven overs. Leg-spinner Shahzaib claimed two wickets for 90 in a marathon 30 overs.
Karachi, in their second innings, were 36 for the loss of one wicket at the close of play. They are now 81 runs ahead of Lahore.
