Jewellers strike over dacoity

KHAIRPUR, Sept 13: A goldsmith was deprived of gold ornaments, cash, prize bonds and other valuables by three unidentified armed men in the early hours on Saturday.

According to reports, three armed men entered the house of a goldsmith, Dewan Sobhraj alias Sobho Mal, in Munchi Mohalla, held the family members hostage and looted gold ornaments, cash, prize bonds and other valuables and escaped.

Complete shutter down strike was observed in Sarafa bazaar Khairpur after the incident.

Office bearers and members of Sarafa Bazaar Association Khairpur, led by its President, Hussain Bux Abbasi took out a protest procession from Sarafa bazaar. They gave three days ultimatum to police for the recovery of robbed valuables.
