Zulfiqar, Afaq stand out

KARACHI, Sept 11: Zulfiqar Lehri slammed a sparking half-century to steer NIB Bank to an eight-wicket victory over Saudi Pak Bank in the AKU Twenty20 Ramazan cricket tournament at the AKU Ground on Wednesday.

Batting first, Saudi Pak Bank made 99 all out in 20 overs, Vijay Harzara (20) and Atiq-ur-Rehman (19) being the main contributors. Tariq Murad (3-13) and Afaq Ahmed (3-19) bowled well.

NIB Bank, in reply, raced to victory in 12 overs for the loss of just two wickets. Zulfiqar Lehri hammered seven boundaries and a six in his knock of 53. Aziz Zuberi (19) was the other noteworthy scorer.

Afaq Ahmed, who chipped in with three wickets, was named man-of-the-match.—APP
