KARACHI, Sept 11: The KASB Premier League tournament being organised by Sports 360 saw the completion of its 26th match at the CDGK Stadium on Wednesday night with Maymar Sports drawing 2-2 with Mauripur Baloch.

The match which had Maymar Sports taking the lead twice, also saw them failing to maintain it with the Mauripur boys close at their heels. After sharing one point each, Maymar have seven points from their three matches and Mauripur six from four.

Maymar’s frontrunners Mohammad Naseem, Mudassar, Taimur and Mohammad Ashraf together with midfielders Qayyum Jan and Shahnawaz launched several attacks on their opponents from the very start of the match. They struck in the 23rd minute when striker Mudassar’s 20-yard shot from the right saw the ball go directly into the goal leaving no chance of blocking it for Mauripur’s goalkeeper Wajid Baloch.

The score at interval was 1-0.

Mauripur made a substitution in the form of striker Khalid Sakhi in the 52nd minute, which went in their favour when Khalid’s attempt from just outside the penalty box only a minute later could not be reached in time by Maymar’s goalkeeper Hameedullah as his opponents restored parity.

Maymar Sports got ahead again in the 60th minute when a halfhearted clearance from Mauripur’s goalie Wajid was received and headed in by Maymar’s striker Mohammad Naseem before it could reach his rival. But another substitute player Sami Samad came to the rescue of Mauripur Baloch when he shot in the ball over goalkeeper Hameedullah’s head from 30 yards just five minutes before the final whistle.

The match also saw Mauripur’s Farooq Rehman get a red card and Zohaib Baloch receive a warning in the form of a yellow one from referee Younus Lal.
