Enmity claims one life; man found dead

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Sept 11: A man was shot dead by his rival in the federal capital, police said here on Thursday.

Abdul Wahab moved to Islamabad from Bajaur Agency along with his family and siblings after developing differences with his relatives. The differences turned into an enmity which claimed a number of lives of both rivals. Wahab allegedly murdered one of his relatives after which he escaped from the Tribal Areas and came to Islamabad along with his family members. Here he started working as a labourer with his five brothers and started living in Kirpa, a rural area of the federal capital.

The slain relative’s son (S.K.) was hunting for him to take revenge. He succeeded to trace him on Wednesday night. He intercepted him near his house and opened fire on him as a result of which Abdul Wahab received three bullets on the upper part of his body. The killer managed to escape from the scene.

On hearing the gunshots, the family members and people from the neighbourhood rushed to the spot and found him lying in a pool of blood. He was taken to the hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead.

Kural police have registered a case on the complaint of the victim’s wife.

STAFF REPORTER FROM PINDI ADDS: An 85-year-old man was murdered in his house in the Civil Lines area on Thursday, police said.

Sheikh Hameed, who had been living in a rented house with his wife, was found dead in a chair with his arms tied with a rope and a deep wound to his neck.

Initial police investigation suggested that sometimes before the murder incident came to light, Sakina Bibi, the wife of the deceased, was shifted to the hospital in an ambulance by some relatives who had come to their house.

A postmortem examination is due to take place on Friday. A murder investigation has been launched by the police to ascertain the reason behind the man’s death.
