KARACHI: Bandit injured by partner in Landhi

KARACHI, Sept 11: A bandit was shot at by his associate when he fell off the motorcycle he was riding while they were trying to flee from the scene of crime in Landhi on Thursday.

The area police said it seemed that the bandit wanted to kill his associate so as to leave no trail behind for the law-enforcers.

Police said that the two suspects were busy snatching cellphones from people in Landhi No 6, when area police patrolling the area spotted them.

While escaping one of the suspects fell from the motorcycle and his accomplice shot at him and swiftly fled.

Police nabbed the injured suspect who identified himself as Mohammad Ali and his associate as Shakil. He has been shifted to the Jinnah Hospital for medical treatment as according to the police, he is in a critical condition.

Killed in brawl

A brawl between children over some petty issue led to the death of a man in Landhi.

According to the area police, the incident occurred in Majeed Colony where children had a fight over some issue and elders from both sides also got involved.

After an exchange of hot words, they took out weapons and opened fire on one another. As a result, Mohammad Sarfaraz, 30, suffered a fatal bullet wound and died before he could be taken to a hospital while Mohammad Ali, 28, got wounded and was taken to the Junnah Hospital for medical treatment. Police have registered a case against both the parties.

Electrocuted

A young man was electrocuted to death by a snapped electricity wire near Kashmir Road.

Police said that Mohammad Iqbal, 27, a resident of Jamshed Road, was passing through China Ground when he became entangled in the live wires and died on the spot.

The body of the victim has been shifted to the Jinnah Hospital for legal formalities.

Stabbed to death

A 30-year-old man was stabbed to death allegedly by his colleague in Mauripur.

Police said that Ghulam Rasool was a worker at the Mauripur truck stand and was killed by one of his co-workers, Farhan, 17.

Citing the possible reason for the murder police said that Farhan killed the man as the victim had allegedly sexually assaulted him.

The police said that they had arrested the suspect and booked in the murder case registered on behalf of the state.

Body found

The body of an unidentified young man was found near Mira Naka in Chawkiwara.

The body has been shifted to the Civil Hospital.

Sources at the hospital said that the body bore marks of torture and the victim appeared to be in his early 30s.

The body was later transferred to the Edhi Morgue for want of identification.

Meanwhile, a partially decomposed body of a man was found at a desolate place near Northern Bypass in the limits of the Surjani police.

The body was later moved to the Edhi Morgue.
