Crude output drops

KARACHI, Sept 11: Crude oil production has plunged 12.5 per cent to 64,423 barrels per day (BPD) during July 2008 as against 73,601 bpd in the corresponding month last year.

According to an oil and gas production data of Pakistan Petroleum Information Services (PPIS) here on Thursday, the gas production during the said period stood at 3,916 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD) as compared to 3,853 mmcfd in July 2007, showing a nominal rise of 1.6 per cent.

The data revealed that the major reasons behind the significant decline in oil production during July 2008 were annual turn around at Adhi field and maintenance job at Makori and Zamzama fields.—APP
