KARACHI, Sept 10: District East champions Karachi Kickers and District Malir champions Sharafi Mohammadan played a 1-1 draw to share points in KASB Premier League Football’s 25th match at the CDGK Stadium on Tuesday night.

The match began with a moment of silence in memory of the supervisor of Monday night’s match between Shahzad Mohammadan and Hazara Mohammadan, referee Yousuf Habib, who died from a sudden heart attack on Tuesday.

The first half of the match saw a fast-paced game but with several missed chances and no goals.

The first goal was scored by Sharafi M’Dan when their striker Abdul Haleem converted a pass from midfielder Abdul Rasheed in the 53rd minute.

It was top scorer Abdul Haleem’s sixth goal in the tournament.

But parity was restored soon after, in the 58th minute, by Karachi Kickers when their midfielder Mohammad Khan’s corner kick was promptly netted by striker Abdullah Amin.

The match also saw two players from each outfit — Karachi Kickers’ Mohammad Akmal and Zeeshan Tara and Sharafi’s Naveed Ahmed and Shahjahan Baloch — getting yellow cards from referee Dil Murad.
