HYDERABAD: Seed Corp to be made profitable organisation

HYDERABAD, Sept 10: The Sindh government has sanctioned Rs225.051 million for converting Seed Corporation into a profitable organisation and improving its efficiency, said Managing Director Gul Hassan Saand.

He said this during a meeting of administrative and technical officers of the corporation at his office here on Wednesday.

The money would be spent on purchase of seeds, improvement and rehabilitation of government agricultural farms, rehabilitation of seed plants, purchase of laboratory and office equipments, tractors and other vehicles for seed processing plants and SSC agricultural farms, installation of tube-wells, purchase of agricultural machinery and lining of watercourses.Giving break-up, he said Rs17.335 million will be spent on rehabilitation of seed plants, Rs85.847 million on development of farms, Rs8.608 million on mobility, Rs77.083 million on sale and purchase of seeds and Rs33.950 for financial liabilities.

He urged the officials to prepare a comprehensive and integrated plan to make corporation a profitable organisation. He warned of strict action against inefficient employees.
