KARACHI, Sept 10: Eight ships carrying palm oil and to load molasses and cement are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where eight ships, Cape Negro, Hansa Liberty and APL Cairo to unload and load containers, Sea Vetran and Lkae Maja, bulk carriers, Lily Noble and Fusion-1 with general cargo and Keo Young Prince, an oil tanker, were accommodated berths after the departure of six ships.

The departing ships were led by Sari, Sinar Bintan, Bengal Orchid, Lalazar, Ocean Coral and Far Singapore, while Cape Negro, APL Cairo, Lily Noble, Hansa Liberty, Ocaia and Red Sea Spirit are due to sail out on Thursday.

A total tonnage of 123,000 tons comprising 42,094 tons of export and 80,464 tons of import cargo was handled on Wednesday.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Maersk Rouca to load 31,000 tons of molasses, Chemstar Brave with 4,000 tons of palm oil, Soon Fu, Y.M. Initiative and Ibn Sina with containers, Blida to load 8,000 tons of cement, Jin Cheng with steel coils.
