LARKANA: Four of a family shot dead

LARKANA, Sept 9: Four members of a family were gunned down by unidentified assailants in Behram Town near Qambar on Tuesday morning.

Armed men managed to scale into the house of Ghulam Haidar Magsi while the family was asleep.

Assailants opened fire resulting in the death of Ali Haidar Magsi, 55, and his two wives Nawab Khatoon and Arbab Khatoon, while seriously wounding his grandson, Nizamuddin, 16 who also succumbed on way to the hospital.

The assailants escaped the scene leaving behind a mystery as to what was reason behind the four murders.

“We have no enmity with anyone,” said Mahram Magsi, brother of Ali Haidar.

Fear gripped the family and the area while police termed it targeted killings and was busy in solving the case.

Villagers and police jointly traced the footsteps of assailants with the help of sniffer dogs but remained clueless for marks got lost on a nearby road.

A team of three doctors from Shahdadkot Taluka Hospital performed post-mortem of the four in Behram town.

The burial of four took place in the village in the evening amidst touching scenes.

Nihal Magsi, nephew of Ali Haidar, lodged an FIR with the Behram police station against six unidentified assailants.
