‘Iran working with US forces’
CAIRO, Sept 8: Al Qaeda No 2 Ayman al Zawahri has accused Iran of working with US forces in Afghanistan and Iraq in his latest video message.
Excerpts of message have appeared on Arab news channel Al Jazeera and it is timed to mark the anniversary of the Sept 11, 2001, attacks on the United States.
Al Zawahri accuses Iran of “cooperating with the Americans in occupying Iran and Afghanistan” and slams it for recognising the governments there, in the excerpts shown on Monday.
Al Zawahri also criticised the Shias for not calling for a jihad in Iraq and taking up arms against the “Crusader occupier” there.
