Villager rises against karo-kari, condemns his ‘killer’ son

JACOBABAD, Sept 8: A man has lodged an FIR against his son, stating that he is trying to save his skin through the custom of so-called honour killing after killing his innocent wife and a man with whom he has a monetary dispute.

Moula Bukhsh Lohar of Jafarabad village lodged an FIR at the Miranpur police station of the Garhi Khairo area, stating that his son Ghulam Shabbir was involved in monetary dispute with Sobho Katohar. On Sunday evening, both engaged in a quarrel.According to Moula Bukhsh, his son came home and shot his wife Marooi dead. Later, he also gunned down Sobho in a village street and made up the story that his wife and Sobho had illicit relations over which he had killed both to save his honour.

The police took the body of Sobho to a Garhi Khairo hospital and that of Marooi to Jacobabad Civil Hospital for autopsy.
