Zardari’s election will change nothing: PTI
LAHORE, Sept 7: Asif Ali Zardari’s election to the Presidency will bring no change to Pakistan’s policies, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) representative said here on Sunday.
Speaking at a reception at the party’s provincial office, PTI Lahore President Mahmoodur Rashid said there was no difference in the policies of the present government and the previous regime. The problems relating to inflation, unemployment and judges had not been solved and NATO forces were attacking tribal areas blatantly. People were spending major part of their income on utility bills after increase in tariffs.
Rashid said PTI was trying to provide relief to people by setting up ‘sasta tandoors’ for sale of roti at cheap rates. Four ‘tandoors’ had been set up in the city so far and arrangements were being made to set up more.
JUP: Jamiat-i-Ulema-i-Pakistan President Dr Muhammad Zubair has said the presidency is the real test of Asif Ali Zardari. Congratulating the Pakistan People’s Party co-chairperson in a statement issued here on Sunday, the JUP president said the nation wanted to see as to how Mr Zardari tackled issues like foreign military interference, inflation, power shortage, law and order and corruption in state institutions. — Reporter
