ATTOCK, Sept 6: Five children and a woman were killed in different rain-related incidents in various areas of Attock and Taxila overnight.

According to police, the woman and her three children were killed and five others injured when roof of a house collapsed at Karballa locality, Attock.

The police said the house of a labourer, Sattar, caved in due to heavy rains, burying all the inmates under the debris.

Medical Superintendent of the District Headquarters hospital Dr Khalid Mehmood Khan said, Laila Bibi and her two daughters Nosheen, 15, Maria, 6, and son Zafar died, while five of her family members - Ismail, Aysha, Zahra, Ali and Khalil – were injured.

They are stated to be out of danger and getting treatment at the DHQ hospital, he said.

Four injured: Four persons were injured in separate incidents in the city, police said.

In the first incident, Firdous told the police that his brother and two other persons, Waqas and Amir, allegedly attacked him with wooden sticks over a family dispute.

Similarly, Pervez Akhtar lodged a complaint with city police, saying that he was standing at Housing Colony with a person named Tahir when two brothers, Umar Shehzad and Khurram Shehzad, allegedly attacked them with knives and fled from the scene. Both sustained injuries and were rushed to the local hospital.

A six-year-old girl, Salma, was playing outside her house when an unknown motorcycle rider hit her.

Separate cases were registered by Attock city police against the accused.

Our TAXILA correspondent adds: The rains swept away a house located at Saleem Nagar area, drowning one-year-old Farhan.

His body was fished out of water and shifted to the local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

In Wah Cantonment, wall of a house at Nawababad fell over a minor girl, killing her on the spot. The deceased was identified as Humera Riaz.
