Ammar scores 89 as Karachi take lead
KARACHI, Sept 6: Ammar Hasan cracked an enterprising 89 to help Karachi pile up 347 all out on the second day of their three-day PCB Inter-region Under-19 cricket championship match against Faisalabad at the PCB Academy Ground here on Saturday.
He scored in 159 minutes off 134 balls spiced with 14 boundaries as Karachi resuming at their overnight score of 84-2 gained a massive 190 runs first innings lead.
Left-arm spinner Hasan Mahmood bowled well in a difficult situation to finish with four wickets for 94 runs in 22 overs.
Faisalabad which scored 157 in their first innings were 66 for loss of two wickets at draw of stumps, still needing 124 runs to avoid an innings defeat.
Hamza Zaheer with 32 and Waqas Ahmed on ten were at the crease.
In the other match, Peshawar were all out for 225 on the second day of their three-day match against Karachi Whites at the Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium, Peshawar.
Only 15 overs were bowled on the second day due to wet outfield as a result of heavy rain.
Peshawar started their innings on 175 for eight in 56.2 overs and added 50 more runs.
Karachi White in their first innings scored six for no loss when the play was ended. Fakhar Zaman was batting on one while Jahangir Shah did not open his account.
