NAWABSHAH, Sept 6: Like other parts of the country, people of Nawabshah district, the home town of PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari celebrated his victory in the Presidential elections, here on Saturday.

A large number of PPP activists and supporters gathered outside Zardari House.

The atmosphere was charged as workers were dancing on the drumbeats with songs in the background. PPP activists also fired shots in the air to celebrate the victory.

Sweets were also distributed by PPP taluka president whereas PPP’s youth wing secretary freed pigeons outside Zardari House.

Later, a rally was taken out from Zardari House which after passing through main roads culminated at the press club.

The participants were carrying party flags, posters of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari and were raising slogans of “Jeay Bhutto” and “Zinda Hai Bibi Zinda Hai”.

Speaking on the occasion, PPP leaders said that they missed Shaheed Benazir Bhutto very much but they were also happy that PPP had defeated dictatorship.

They said that PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari had won with a huge majority which was a victory of democracy.

Similar rallies were taken out in Sakrand, Qazi Ahmed, Doulatpur, Daur, Bandhi, and other towns.

In Shikarpur, the PPP activists and the democratic minded citizens took out welcome rallies in Shikarpur, Garhi Yasin and other parts of the district.

PPP district president and secretary led the rally in Shikarpur and the taluka president led the rally in Garhi Yasin. On the occasion sweets were also distributed.

In Mirpurkhas, PPP activists, including women, took out a rally to mark the election victory of Asif Ali Zardari.

Hundreds of party workers took to the streets. They were carrying banners and PPP flags and were marching on roads.

They raised slogans “Zinda Hai Bhutto Zinda Hay”, “Zinda Hay Bibi Zinda Hay”, “Jeay Bhutto”.

They reached outside the press club where speakers congratulated leader Asif Ali Zardari for his victory.

In Naushahro Feroze, hundreds of PPP workers and supporters in Moro, Naushahro Feroze, Kandiaro, Mithiani and other towns distributed sweets while celebrating the victory of Asif Ali Zardari as the president of the country.

In Jacobabad, SPSF took out a rally from its office to celebrate the victory. After marching on different roads, the PPP activists, including women wing leaders, reached at the local press club.

They raised slogans “Jeay Bhutto”. The PPP stalwarts also fired in the air in jubilation.
