HYDERABAD, Sept 5: Activists of Sindhiani Tehrik, women wing of Awami Tehrik, staged a protest demonstration and token hunger strike outside the press club on Friday to condemn the barbaric treatment meted out to five, or according to some claims two, women in Nasirabad, Balochistan. Reports claimed that the women were buried alive by their relatives.

Speaking on the occasion, Sindhiani Tehrik leaders Nazeer Qureshi, Zarina Kalrani, Fatima Halepoto and Zahida Shaikh said that the dastardly act was a flagrant violation of the constitution, law and fundamental rights.

It was a resounding slap on the face of humanity, they said and added that it was reminiscent of dark ages.

They said that the most important thing in a civilised society was the dispensation of justice and criticised the government for taking the entire issue lightly. They said that the adviser to the federal government for interior and the chief minister of Balochistan should resign.
