By Our Correspondent

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Sept 5: At least 250 deserving people from different villages of Moro taluka staged demonstration in Moro on Friday to protest against the Baitul Maal officials for delaying payment of subsistence allowance to them.

They said that the Baitul Maal officer had called them again and again for payment and when they reached his office, they were refused the payment.

They said that the Baitul Maal officer had fixed Sept 5 for the deserving people of Moro taluka for collection and filling up of forms for the allowance. They said that despite fasting they reached the TMA office but again the Baitul Maal officer was not there.

They alleged that Baitul Maal officers and the postmaster in collusion with each other were not paying them the funds thrice a year and accused them of usurping the funds.

They appealed to the Sindh chief minister and the DCO of Naushahro Feroze to order an inquiry into the matter.

Rickshaw Rally: A group of members of Sabqi community and their supporters took out a rickshaw rally and staged sit-ins in Moro on Friday to protest against doctors of outside the taluka hospital for allegedly mishandling a delivery case.

About 70 members of Sabqi comunity and activists of Labour Party of Pakistan and Al-Noor Sugar Mills Workers Union, carrying banners and placards and loudspeakers, took out a rally on rickshaws and staged sit-ins outside the hospital and the press club.

They alleged that Mrs Abdul Razzaq Sabqi was brought to the hospital for a delivery case two day ago but due to wrong injection administered to her by the doctors, the child died in the womb while the mother’s condition became critical.

They said that they approached the medical superintendent of the hospital who did not give proper response and referred the case to Nawabshah Medical College Hospital. They said that the woman was still admitted to Nawabshah hospital.

They demanded of the higher authorities to order an inquiry into the matter and take action against responsible doctors.

The medical superintendent of Moro taluka hospital was not available for comments. Dr Abdul Razzaq Shahi, available at the hospital, said that he had not attended the woman and was not aware about the case.

SANITARY WORKERS: Around 65 sanitary workers of the taluka municipal administration observed strike, took out a rally and staged a demonstration in Moro on Friday to protest against non-payment of their three-month salary.

They said that the TMA had not paid their salary for the last three months. They threatened to continue their strike if they were not paid salaries.
