KARACHI: Over 1,000 punished for overcharging

KARACHI, Sept 5: In-charge of the CDGK’s price-control campaign Matanat Ali Khan has said that 1,057 retailers and shopkeepers were fined for overcharging during the exercise in different parts of the city over the past three days.

The collective amount of the fine money was put at Rs1.4 million. Besides, 106 profiteers were sent to jail, he added.

The largest number of the punished traders appeared to be fruit merchants who were followed by milk-sellers, meat-sellers, kiryana traders and vegetable vendors.
