National training camp for women cricketers begins

LAHORE, Sept 4: A national women’s cricket training camp, as the first phase in finalising an outfit for three upcoming international assignments, commenced here at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) on Thursday.
Some 25 girls out of 28 probables reported to the camp to be conducted by the women’s national team coach Umer Rashid.
The team’s first assignment is a home series of five One-day and two Twenty20 matches against the West Indies starting Oct 3. The other two assignments comprise next year’s Asia Cup and the World Cup.
The probables: Bisma Maroof, Sajida Shah, Nahida Khan, Urooj Mumtaz Khan, Sana Mir, Sana Javed, Batool Fatima, Javeria Khan, Marina Iqbal, Marium Hasan Shah, Shumaila Mushtaq, Almas Akram, Nida Dar, Nain Abidi, Qanita Jalil, Asmavia Iqbal, Sumaiya Siddiqui, Sabahat Rashid, Sadia Yousuf, Sana Gulzar, Salma Faiz, Asifa Batool, Zeba Manzoor, Sabeen Abdul Samad, Kanwal Naz, Wajiha Sundas, Rabia Batool and Naila Nazir.
