KARACHI, Sept 4: The updated website of the Sindh Assembly was launched on Tuesday by Speaker Nisar Ahmad Khuhro, along with US Consul-General Kay Anske and Director of the USAID Democracy and Governance Michael Hryshchyshyn.

The website “www.pas.govt.pk” has been developed with the assistance of the USAID Pakistan Legislative Strengthening programme. It contains information about functioning of the Sindh assembly and its deliberations, business of the house, resolutions, legislation etc in the English and Urdu languages.

Mr Khuhro said at the launch that the website presented a complete picture of the elected house, its working and proceedings.

Ms Anske described it as a step forward in strengthening democracy and parliamentary rule.

She hoped that the website would help bring people and their representatives closer.

Mr Hryshchyshyn said the website would enable citizens to understand the challenges, responsibilities and legislative process in a more effective manner. Earlier, Sindh Coordinator of the project Huma Ikramullah welcomed the guests.
