Port Qasim


KARACHI, Sept 3: Normal shipping activity was observed at the port where two ships Mustafa Bay and M.T. Bow Hunter were accommodated on berths at M.P. terminal to load/unload cement and palm oil during the last 24 hours, says a press release.

Meanwhile, four more ships carrying containers, diesel oil and palm oil arrived at the outer anchorage during the period under review.

Berth occupancy was maintained at 60 per cent at the port on Tuesday where a total of six ships currently occupied berths to load/unload cement, crude oil, palm oil, and coke, respectively, during the report period.

The port handled 13,907 tons of cargo comprising 9,009 tons of imports and 4,898 tons of exports during the report period.

Three ships carrying containers, diesel oil and wheat were expected to take berths at QICT, Fotco and MW-4, respectively, on Wednesday.

Four more ships carrying containers, iron ore, crude oil and palm oil are due to arrive at the port on Thursday.
