HYDERABAD, Sept 2: Personnel of CIA police picked up three suspects from the premises of sessions court as soon as they came out of a trial court after attending hearing in a kidnapping for ransom case here on Tuesday.

Abdul Qayyum, Shaukat Malik and Mehboob Samoon had appeared in the court of Additional District Judge-I Sikandar Lashari in connection with kidnapping of one Nazeer of Tando Allahyar. The fourth accused in the case, Ghulam Nabi, has died, according to their counsel, Zahoor A. Baloch.

Personnel of CIA police laid a siege to court soon after their arrival and the accused submitted an application to the court, informing that police had arrived to arrest them.

Baloch said that a separate application has also been filed under sections 22-A CrPC against the Hyderabad DPO, SP investigation and SHOs of different police stations, stating that a heavy contingent of police laid siege to the court to arrest his clients.

The notices had been issued to the respondent police officials asking them to appear in court on Tuesday.

The counsel said that despite filing applications policemen in civvies arrested them and took them away to an undisclosed destination.

Sources in police said that they had been picked up by CIA police, who wanted to interrogate them about kidnapping of Munawar Junejo, director general of designs of the Sindh Works and Services Department, and one Ali Aslam Khwaja.

They were kidnapped respectively from Tandojam and Bhittai Nagar. Police are still clueless about the kidnappers despite having picked up and grilled many suspects. Most of the suspects grilled so far have been facing cases of kidnapping for ransom.
