Punjab flour row settled

LAHORE, Sept 1: Provincial Minister for Food Malik Nadeem Kamran said on Monday that all issues between the Punjab government and flour mill-owners had been settled and the mills would start regular grinding of wheat after receiving their quota from the first of Ramazan (Tuesday) and all cases against them had been withdrawn.

Addressing a press conference, the minister said that a meeting presided over by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif decided to set up a committee to resolve the issue.

He said the decision, to be given in three days, would have to be accepted by both the government and mill-owners. He said that a 20 kg flour bag would be sold for Rs300 throughout the province.

Bilal Sufi and other office-bearers of the Flour Mills Association attended the press conference.
