Rs18.395m Zakat fund for N.As

SKARDU, Sept 1: The Northern Areas Zakat Council has approved Rs18.395 million Zakat for distribution among the deserving persons in the six districts of the region.

Presiding over a meeting of the council, chief secretary Babar Yaqoob, who is also the chairman of the council, said all problems related to Zakat distribution would be resolved and the system would be made more transparent.

He assured the meeting that Zakat offices would be set up in all districts and the deputy commissioners would be asked to get one kanal of land in each district for this purpose.—PPI
