KOHAT, Aug 28: Security forces arrested four Taliban, including two local commanders, in the Akhorwal area of Darra Adamkhel on Thursday.

On a tip-off, the security forces raided Azadi Mela and Shadikhel villages in the Akhorwal area and arrested Ajmal, a close aide of commander Tariq, and Shah Zaman. Two other militants escaped on motorcycles.

Later, the security forces conducted another raid in the Darra Adamkhel bazaar on identification of Ajmal and arrested Khalid and Sayed Zaman.

Tariq and his group members are wanted for the killing 15 security personnel in February and hijacking five ammunition trucks of the army. The arrested militants were taken to an undisclosed location for interrogation, sources told Dawn.

Meanwhile, a bomb disposal squad on Thursday defused a 20kg bomb planted in the Kagahzai area on the Kohat-Parachinar road, police said.— Correspondent
