KARACHI, Aug 28: Five ships carrying containers, chemicals, palm oil and furnace oil were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Thursday.

Meanwhile, another container ship also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Nine ships, ACX Marguerite, Rosa-M, Christina, Bernice,

ST Mark, Qem Star, Sulawesi Palm, Vema Ocean and

Iran Hamzeh, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, wheat, chemicals, palm oil, diesel oil and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 87,492 tons comprising 76,178 tons of import and 11,344 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was slow as only ACX Marguerite left the port while Christina, Qem Star and Rosa-M were expected to depart.
