Abid falls in quarter-finals

ISLAMABAD, Aug 27: Pakistan’s M. Abid Ali Khan fell against Ariez Elyaas Deen of Malaysia in the quarter-final of the ITF Pakistan Junior tennis tournament at the PTF Complex on Wednesday.

Fifth seed Michael Siyaguna of Australia made the major up set when he defeated second seed S.V. Abhishek of India in the quarter-final.

Ariez Elyaas Deen (Malaysia), Shantanu Rajput (India) and Vaidik Munshaw (India) also advanced to the semi-finals.

In the girls’ singles event, India’s Nilaya Tarimela beat her compatriot Shalaka Manjunath in straight sets.
