ITF Juniors tennis moves into last eight round

ISLAMABAD, Aug 26: Mohammad Abid Ali Khan (Pakistan), Ariez El yaas (Malaysia), Shantanu Rajput (India), Ankesh Bhargava (India), S. Prithiv (India), Vaidik Munshaw (India), Michael Siyaguna (Australia) and S. V. Abhishek (India) moved into the quarter-finals by winning their respective matches in the third ITF Pakistan International Junior Tennis Championship played at PTF complex on Tuesday.

Third seed Shantanu Rajput of India won his encounter against Iftikhar Samir of Pakistan in a well contested three-set match. Shantanu clinched the match 1-6, 6-2,6-4

Abid Ali Khan of Pakistan defeated Heera Ashiq by playing serve volley game in straight sets winning it 6-1,6-3 .

Second seed S. V. Abhishek (India) and eighth seed Ankesh Bhargava (India) were in good form. They both won their matches without conceding a single game in both sets.

Nilaya Tarimela (India), Shalaka Manjunath (India), Carol Augustine-Benito (Spain), Sarah Mahboob Khan (Pakistan), Natasha Afridi (Pakistan), Luksika Kumkhum (Thailand), Peeraya Charoensirisutthikul (Thailand) and Shweta Rana (India) moved into the quarter-finals by defeating their respective opponents. Sarah Mahboob Khan of Pakistan beat Saadgi Rajani of India in straight sets 6-2,6-3 while Natasha Afridi of Pakistan hammered compatriot Meheq Khokhar in straight sets 6-1,6-3.
