SIALKOT, Aug 26: The construction of Cast Metal Technology Testing and Training Centre in Daska’s Small Industrial Estate is going on expeditiously under the supervision of Pakistan Council for Scientific Industrial Research.

DCO Capt Atta Muhammad Khan (retired) told reporters in Daska on Tuesday that the Rs350 million project would be completed in two years.

He said the centre would be a state-of-the-art facility to cater to the needs of advanced foundry, casting, forging and metal testing at industries established in Sialkot, Daska, Gujrat, Wazirabad and Gujranwala areas.

He said that special diplomas would be awarded to graduating local artisans and unemployed workers.

He said that though the whole project would take two years to complete, the provision of metal testing facility to local industries would be started from Sept this year.

The DCO said the up-gradation of industrial sector was top priority of the federal government which was making all out efforts to boost and modernise the country’s industrial sector.
