KARACHI: SUP’s call for provincial autonomy

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Aug 26: The Sindh United Party has demanded provincial autonomy in accordance with the 1940 Pakistan Resolution to steer the country out of the persisting crises.

The SUP central committee, which met under the chairmanship of Syed Jalal Mehmood Shah, also opposed construction of any big dam over the Indus river.

It expressed concern over the “deteriorating law and order in the country”, and slammed the government for its failure to improve the situation.

The committee called for an independent judiciary so that democracy could flourish in the country, and observed that only a truly independent judiciary could ensure no more military interventions.
