KARACHI, Aug 26: The Daira-i-Adab-o-Saqafat on Tuesday organized a condolence reference for renowned poet Ahmed Faraz. Speakers at the gathering paid tribute to the person and services of the late poet.

Syed Azfar Rizvi, Sabir Nizami, Dr Mumtaz Ahmed Khan, Nasir Shamsi, Mubashir Mir and Nadeem Hashmi were among those who attended the meeting.

Meanwhile, Vice-Chancellor of the Karachi University Prof Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui has expressed his deep grief over the demise of Ahmed Faraz.

In his condolence message, he said the death of Ahmed Faraz was a great loss to the literary and intellectual circle of the country.—Agencies
