KARACHI: Class XI placement date extended
KARACHI, Aug 26: The admission committee, set up under the Centralized Admission Policy (CAP) for placement of Matric students in the city’s government colleges, has extended the last date for the submission of the placement forms by two days. A member of the CAP committee said on Tuesday that the authorized bank branches would now accept the forms till Aug 28.
He said that the branches would also continue to issue the placement forms till the same date.
Around 87,000 forms have already been issued by the 42 authorized branches across the city. More than 67,000 forms were submitted by candidates till Monday evening.
Meanwhile, former director of colleges Prof Haroon Raheed has called for an inquiry into the resignation of human resource director in the directorate-general (colleges), Prof Deedar Murtaza, from the office of secretary-cum-member of the CAP committee.
Prof Murtaza’s resignation at a time when the committee had a gigantic job to accomplish had raised many questions which ought to be answered, he said, pointing out that it was beyond anyone’s comprehension that more than 30 people had been accommodated in the admission committee instead of a maximum of 15 as envisaged in the policy.—Staff Reporter
