KESC edge past NBP

KARACHI, Aug 25: Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) beat National Bank of Pakistan 1-0 in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) match played here at the Peoples Sports Complex on Monday.

Meanwhile in the day’s other match at the PMC Ground in Faisalabad, Navy triumphed against Punjab Medical College (PMC) 3-1.

After a barren first half, KESC managed to score the lone goal of the encounter when international striker Aurangzeb Shahmir scored in the 58th minute.

Meanwhile, the Faisalabad match saw Navy’s striker Sajjad Ahmed scoring two of their three goals. Sajjad opened the account for his side in the eighth minute and ended with another in the 90th. In between midfielder Mohammad Basharat scored the second in the 45th minute.

In reply PMC could only manage one, scored by their winger Bashir Ahmed, in the 15th minute.

Tuesday’s fixtures: Pakistan International Airlines v Karachi Port Trust at Korangi Baloch Stadium; Afghan Football Club v Pakistan Steel at Govt High School, Chaman. Both matches kickoff at 5.30pm.—Sports Reporter
