LHC suspends Punjab govt’s order

By Our Reporter

LAHORE, Aug 25: The Lahore High Court on Monday allowed an assistant district public prosecutor to continue working after suspending the Punjab government’s order of termination from service.

The court also admitted for regular hearing the petition of Mohammad Ahsan which would be heard along several similar petitions.

The bench, comprising Justice Nasim Sikandar and Justice Hafiz Tariq Nasim, issued this order on Ahsan’s petition who submitted that after retirement from Pakistan Air Force in 1994 he was enrolled as an advocate. On June 20, 2007, he was appointed as ADPP in the civil court of Gujrat.

He told court that he was serving diligently and on April 19 this year he had received a termination letter wherein no reason for his removal was mentioned.

He prayed that the order of his termination being illegal and unconstitutional be set aside.

In the earlier petitions of prosecutors, the LHC had suspended operation of the removal order till the final decision in this regard.
