Hyderi Baloch, Maymar Sports register wins: Premier League Football

KARACHI, Aug 24: Hyderi Baloch triumphed over Karachi South champions Lal Bakhsh Memorial 5-2 and District Central champions Maymar Sports edged past Gharib Nawaz Dalmia 2-1 in the two KASB Premier League Football matches played at the National Coaching Centre ground here on Saturday evening.

Hyderi Baloch owed their victory to Ghulam Farooq (two goals), Imran Ahmed, Shehroze Khan and Badar Qadir (one each) while Majid Jr and Mohammad Ayaz scored for Lal Bakhsh.

Hyderi Baloch were on attack from the word go with international junior player Imran Ahmed opening for them in the 25th minute with striker Ghulam Farooq bringing in the second, moments before the halftime whistle.

Three minutes into the second half and Farooq scored another, helping Hyderi lead by 3-0.

Meanwhile, striker Majid Jr got the first one for Lal Bakhsh Memorial. But the 71st minute saw midfielder Shehroze Khan getting the fourth one for the winners, with former national team skipper Qadir Bakhsh Baloch’s eldest son Badar Qadir bringing up the fifth in the next 10 minutes to complete their tally of five.

Lal Bakhsh’s second goal was scored by striker Mohammad Ayaz in the 85th minute.

In the second match, Maymar Sports defeated Gharib Nawaz Dalmia to earn their first league win, which gave them three points.

The winners’ first goal came with their striker Shahnawaz converting a cross pass in the 12th minute.

The score at interval was 1-0.

The 54th minute saw spearhead Ahmed Sultan equalling by scoring the lone goal for Gharib Nawaz. But midfielder Mohammad Naseem struck for Maymar in the final moments of the game to seal the fate of the match.

Earlier, the delayed arrival of both the teams prompted match commissioner Shareef Amin to reduce the time duration of the match from the usual 90 minutes to 80.
