TNFJ holds Protests against killings
By Our Reporter
ISLAMABAD, Aug 24: Tehrik Nifaz Fiqh-i-Jafariya (TNFJ) on Sunday observed `Yaum-i-Shuhada Wah Cantt’ (Wah Cantt martyres’ day) throughout the country including Azad Kashmir and Northern Areas on the call of its chief Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi.
Quran Khwani and collective Dua for those killed in the incident began after Fajr prayers in all small and big cities and towns including the federal capital, says a press release.
Peaceful protest demonstrations were also organised by TNFJ district councils against continued incidents of terrorism. A protest demonstration was held at Markazi Imambargah Jamia Al-Murtaza, G-9/4, Islamabad against incidents of murder and terrorism all over the country including Wah Cantt and Dera Ismail Khan.
TNFJ central Yaum-i-Shuhada Wah Cantt committee convener Dr S. Zaman, chairman TNFJ political cell Zulfiqar Ali Raja, district president MSO Jawwad Hussain Awan and others led the demonstration.
Dr Zaman in his address on the occasion termed the killing of poor labourers, dozens of innocent people of Chah Syed Munawar Shah Zaidi in Dera Ismail Khan and the murder of deputy secretary general TNFJ Sardar Mumtaz Ali Qazilbash in Peshawar incidents of open terrorism. He said international colonial powers and their agents were involved in all these incidents.
Condemning some renowned politicians for declaring the incidents of terrorism as sectarian conflict, he said Sunnis and Shias were united but a handful of miscreants were set to disturb peace on the desire of their foreign masters. He demanded that the government take notice of banned groups’ working with new names and their inclusion in political alliances.
Zulfiqar Ali Raja said Pakistan has been the target of terrorism for a long time and people are confronted with different problems and difficulties in the face of price hike. He said there was a need to resolve these problems but we could neither get rid of terrorism despite the Anti-Terrorism Act nor identify the unseen forces bent upon sabotaging the good steps taken to check terrorism. He lamented that the banned groups were roaming around freely and were included in peace committees. He asked the government to set up a broad-based probe commission so as to unveil the real culprits of all incidents of terrorism and give them exemplary punishment.
A resolution adopted on the occasion said it was the government's foremost duty to ensure peace; therefore, it should utilise all resources in restoring law and order.
