KARACHI: Two killed in violent acts

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Aug 24: Two people were killed on Sunday in violent acts in different parts of the city, police and witnesses said.

A 21-year-old man was found shot dead in his house in Model Colony. His family told the police that Imran Ahmed, son of Din Mohammed, was awoken by his father at around 6.30am.

However, the family said the victim told his father, owner of a bakery in the vicinity, that he would get up a little later as he slept late the previous night.

They said Din Mohammed left for his bakery and later, at around 7.30am, the victim’s younger sister, who had gone to wake him, found his brother dead. The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where sources said the victim had received a single bullet to his head from point blank range as the bullet went through his skull.

The police registered a murder case against unknown culprits on the complaint of the victim’s brother, Amjad Hussain.

Boy killed

A seven-year-old boy was killed in his house in Buffer Zone.

Taimuria police said Adil Ahmed, son of Shakil Ahmed, was killed after he received a wound to his head with some heavy object.

They said the victim’s family did not want to initiate legal proceedings as they said the boy was killed accidentally.

The police, however, registered a murder case against the victim’s paternal uncle, Faisal, on behalf of the state.

They said that initial reports suggested that the suspect had quarrelled with the victim’s wife and he attacked the woman with some heavy object which missed the target and hit the boy.

The police said the suspect fled after the incident and they had mounted a search for him.
