DADU, Aug 24: Vocalists enthralled the audience at a concert at the conclusion of the 756th annual Urs of Sufi saint Qalandar Lal Shahbaz in Shahbaz Auditorium in Sehwan on Saturday night.

The artistes included Manzoor Sakhirani, Deeba Sahar, Zamin Ali, Hanif Lashari, Amber Mehak, Barkat Ali, Mazhar Ali, Zulfiqar Ali, Sajjad Yousuf, Raja Allan Faqir, Waqas, Mudasir Raj, Sultana Sourath and Taj Mastani.

The event continued till morning.

At the end of the concert, Shahbaz awards were given to Manzoor Sakhirani and Amber Mehak and Shahbaz shields to Mazhar Ali, Zulfiqar Ali, Hanif Lashari.

Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Award was given to acting District Nazim Abdul Hameed Buledi while Mr Buledi gave award to DCO Ahmed Bux Narejo for arrangements of Urs.

Earlier, a literary conference was held which was presided over by Professor Nawaz Ali Shauq.

Speaking on the occasion, Sindh Minister for Tourism and Culture Sassui Palijo demanded accountability of former president Pervez Musharraf.

The minister said that there was no issue of talibanisation in Sindh and this impression was being wrongly created.

She said that after 1962 no president was elected from Sindh and asserted that the new president should be from Sindh and from PPP so that article 58(2)b is not used against the government.

She constituted a five member committee to conduct research on Qalandar Lal Shahbaz which included Dr Ghulam Ali Allana, Dr Ghulam Mohammad Lakho, Professor Nawaz Ali Shauq, Gul Mohammad Umrani and Dr Fehmida Hussain.

Sarkash Sindhi, Ahmed Khan Madhosh, Professor Inayat Khan, Anwar Azad Kandhro, Mustafa Solangi presented their poetry.
