KARACHI, Aug 24: Members of a demolition team of the Karachi Building Control Authority (KBCA) were attacked when they tried to raze illegal structures raised on a plot in Clifton.

People, stated to be associates of the builder of the construction site, attacked the KBCA men with stones and clubs, and forced them to flee. The police party escorting the demolition squad also could not help out.

The KBCA men, later, lodged an FIR against the builder and his associates at the Boat Basin police station.

Meanwhile, KBCA demolition squads razed illegal constructions on certain plots in Jamshed Quarters, F B’ Area, and North Nazimabad’s blocks A, C, H and N.

Notices have also been issued to the owners/builders of plot No.C-556, Block 7/8 Kathiawar Housing Society, against illegal construction.—PPI
